I;m curious to understand the registration process better..will be picking up my choc.pup in 3 weeks,she will be chipped.I understand the breeder registers the litter ? I live in Canada,and do I need to contact the CKC in anyway ?

Nope.
Everything will be done for you. You will need to fill out some paperwork (or breeder may fill it for you.) You should be signing a Limited Registration though.
CKC takes a very long time, but ensure that you get a litter number from the breeder, so that if by chance you don't have a induvidual before the 6 months after delivery date, you can call the CKC. Just a note, they are not very helpful ;)

Some breeders let you pick your own registered name so you might be thinking about your first, second and third choices in case your breeder asks for them when you pick puppy up. Or, even better, call and ask if that is the case because the breeder's kennel name will take up some of your allowed (36?) spaces.

Thanks very much for the help...Not the first time someone has warned me about CKC..!
