Anyone know of any websites selling the regular Acana line? I can only find Acana grain free in the California stores listed on Champions website.

LuckyLuna 03-24-2009, 03:26 PM I'm feeding my dogs the Acana grain-free (Prairie Harvest) which I can buy in several stores in Portland. I thought the regular Acana formulas also looked good (from what I read on-line) and would be the one to try if I were not feeding grain-free. I talked to the local stores and they said the regular line isn't carried in the U.S. at this point. I couldn't find any websites either except for Canadian ones. I wish the company would supply the U.S. with the regular since they're already selling us the grain-free. bigwise1 03-24-2009, 04:00 PM I'm feeding my dogs the Acana grain-free (Prairie Harvest) which I can buy in several stores in Portland. ImWithThePyr 03-24-2009, 07:05 PM think the prairie harvest is too rich for a 5 1/2 month old puppy? IMO, Prairie Harvest would be a wonderful choice for a 5 1/2 month old puppy. bigwise1 03-24-2009, 10:38 PM IMO, Prairie Harvest would be a wonderful choice for a 5 1/2 month old puppy. my main goal is slow growth and the only thing that worries me is the higher than normal protein. i know that some say that higher protein doesn't accelerate bone growth but i'm still not sure. these high protein grain free foods are still relatively new and when i google them i read a bunch of contradictory arguments. for every article that says it doesn't matter there's two saying it does. who could have thought that picking a dog food could be so frustrating:confused: . btw, my other choice would be eagle pack holistic select chicken/rice. If the Acana Prairie Harvest had been available when Luna was a puppy, I'm sure I would have tried it. I like the 34% protein, 17% fat and 1.3% calcium. As it was, Luna was on Orijen Large Breed Puppy until 7 months (42% protein). She seemed to do well on it, but the Acana definitely would have been attractive choice. |
