I am thinking of adopting a lab from a rescue group in IN who transports the labs to CT and we are to pick it up at the "drop" site. I live in MA and am trying to find information to determine if this rescue group has a good reputation for healthy dogs. Not so concerned about the possible financial loss, but I would hate to adopt a rescue only to find it sick and unhealthy- we have a wonderful, healthy lab in our home now and I don't want to jepordize her health! Does anyone have knowledge of Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption?

I have no experience with them, but I work with several rescues who get thier dogs on transport with groups to send them to CT, MD, and other northeastern states. When one of our dogs get onto these transports, we are required to include ALL paperwork, the dogs can't have ANY signs of illness (coughing, diarreah or anything) and they travel with a health certificate!!

I have spoken with one of their representatives multiple times and he is WONDERFUL. We ended up being matched with a dog from a different rescue (picking the puppy up tomorrow!), but only because of logistics. I would happily and confidently adopt from Lucky Labs. If you have facebook look them up there. The number of happy adoptive families posting stories and pictures is proof! Good luck.

I also spoke with Lucky Labs several times, was impressed also. Unfortunately their labs go very fast and we kept missing the ones we picked - so that says a lot also !
Anyway we went with Labs4Rescue (CT based) and got our girl shipped up from Louisiana, picker her up in CT. We are in MA also.
She was extremely healthy, no issues, fantastic lab. We did have a 2 week trial period - do you have that arrangement ?

I agree with MargieOh about Labs4rescue in Conn. We also got our chocolate 3 year old from down in Louisiana, where most dogs are "put down" in 3 days if not rescued.Who ever you use check them out and rescue a lab !!!!! or 2:D

I have two Labs4rescue labs and do volunteering for them. They are a reputable group that has placed over 8,000 Labs. Never heard of Lucky Lab Rescue. All Labs4rescue Labs are fully vet checked and on heartworm and tick/flea prevention when you adopt them. All come with their vet records so you will have a history of any issues. Their web address is below.

Labs4R do a great job. Please ALWAYS ck their policies, MAKE SURE they care about and do home visits, etc. Spay/neuter.
Some rescues just adopt to anyone without checking much. Sad but it happens and with some groups.
PLEASE always ck everything to make sure the group is a great, caring rescue or do they just want the money??
