I saw a plea for this shelter on PF. Blackie caught me eye--he is such a stately gentleman. Maybe someone can give this big boy a chance.

In order to see how nice this dog is you need to get Blackie out of his kennel and take him to the visitation room. He is a very playful dog that gets along with other dogs and will hit them with his paw in order to get them to play with him. It's the funniest thing to watch. Come and see for yourself.

If you have questions or are interested in a certain dog it is better to call the shelter at 740/593-5415 instead of sending an email.

He is just being fostered by us. I hope to get him on petfinder next week. I just finally got our litter of 7 cocker spaniel/cavlier king charles spaniel puppies online, and they have been here over a week!

Thanks Elaina for posting him, I have been considering another foster dog for a few days, as we have moved several dogs this past month...just trying to wait for the right one!!

I found "blackie"'s original owner, through a friend, but he will NOT be going back there, I don't feel it is a good home.

I need a new name for him also. His original name was Hoss..which is horrid for him! LOL

Any Ideas??

Love that face. Thank you for fostering this beautiful guy and giving him a second chance. He is definitely not a Hoss.

Hi Buddy's mom, I am the very happy and last mum of Kohl, I have been tracking all the threads involving him! Jess made it possible for me to adopt this wonderfull boy after I emailed her about him, I had what could have been his twin for twelve great years and never thought I could get this guy being so far away ( we are in northern P.A.) a few miles from the groundhog thing (big joke) I kept saying I would take old Charlie down for a visit with it and nobody would have to worry about shadows again, he averaged about four a day in the summer, that was just fine with me as they leave big holes in the horse pasture.

You guys are all simply amazing in what you do and very courageous, I am not sure I could take that heart break over and over but oh my what a great feeling to see when you all can pull together and save one.
When I think that Kohl was so close to being killed it just blows me away how you all got him out of there. Jess you will forever be my hero! and now I see after finding this board just what all is involved!!

I will get some pics up later, I guess I have to have so many posts up first so I will get one on the welcome- wagon as well. meanwhile I would love to hear from all of you and again...thankyou from the bottom of my heart for my beautifull fella.

Hi there! Welcome and THANK YOU! I am so happy to have Kohl's new mom on board! I've never forgotten him. It was just a miracle that he made it out of the pound and eventually into your loving arms. It sounds like he is a treasure of a dog and very loved. Every single dog posted on here has my prayers for a life just like Kohl's-full of love and friendship and safety. I look forward to hearing all about him and seeing lots of pictures. Thank you for making a difference!

Congratulations of your beautiful boy!!! Please gigve him a huge hug from me! :)
