In 2003 Rifle came to join us in much the same way as Duchess did. At this time, Blaze was 10, Onyx was 4 and Duchess was 1 1/2. I went to the vets office to pick up some thyroid meds for Blaze (again) and saw Rifle's picture. The caption below the picture said how he needed a home and wanted to make somebody happy. Well, I called DH to see if he knew anybody looking for a dog and he said we should bring the little fellow home with us. So we brought 9 month old Rifle home. Rifle is a Yellow Lab, GSD and Chow mix. He was a joy from day one and fit in with the others easily. Within his first hour home, he claimed our bed as his own. I went looking for him and couldn't find him. When I went into our bedroom, there was Rifle just laying up on our bed with this big grin on his face. He knew he was home. He has been happy ever since.

BTW, DH now tells me I am not allowed to pick up Blaze's meds anymore. He will do it.

He was found on Rifle Range Road and just didn't look like a Ranger, so Rifle it was and is to this day.
