Hi Linda.

I can check on that for you. I just sent my US and Canadian Rescue and Shelter references to Fred (female) of Roane County shelter in Rockwood TN.They request this of all rescues, which is a very good thing.

Hello All,

This is the weekly update on the Roane County Animal Shelter. They do have some room due to a rescue coming and getting animals on Sat. TY SO MUCH FOR THAT!!!! They are not overfull as of yet but we all know that can change in an instant. Please take a look at the websites and let us know if there are any animals you are interested in. Theres a good mix of VERY ADOPTABLE dogs there. Please crosspost! The ones on the URGENT are the dogs available for rescue or adoption now. The others will not be available until after their 72 hr hold. If interested in any of the others on the "Other" list please let me know and IF THEY ARE NOT ADOPTED I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN THEY NEED TO BE PULLED FROM THE SHELTER. The shelter likes to try to get animals adopted BEFORE sending them into rescue. Once their time is up they let us know (as long as we have notified them of interest) when they need to be moved.

IF INTERESTED IN ANY ANIMALS CURRENTLY ON THE LISTS WE NEED TO KNOW ASAP AS THEY WILL PTS ON TUESDAY A.M. if overcrowded.

Please note if we have never worked with you we need your rescue name, location, phone number, vet reference, and a shelter or Humane Society you have a current working relationship with. We need this information when you reply with interest in an animal. Please send this as this saves time on all parties interest. Also we need to know how the animals will be transported. We do NOT provide transport extreme distances as we are an extremely small group of 3 volunteers who try to help the shelter. IF YOU SEND A TRANSPORT FOR MULTIPLE ANIMALS PLEASE SEND AN ADEQUATE VEHICLE (van, truck with cover on the back, stationwagon). IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT ADEQUATE AND THE ANIMALS DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM THE DIRECTOR WILL NOT RELEASE THE ANIMALS TO YOU.

There sure are a lot of wonderful looking dogs there. I still cannot get over how some one could turn any of these dogs in to a shelter!:tissue:
