You all know what a picky/small eater Sierra has been over the past year. well... don't know what happened - but she is eating all her food - very soon after it is put out - has actually barked for more a few times. Been this way for about 3 wks now.

Not even wondering what that is all about - just feel better knowing she is eating her meals everyday - she has NEVER done that. Some days, just a mouthful, others 1 meal, etc. Rarely has she ever eaten both meals.

Just an update!

That's great, Sierra, keep it up!

Thanks for the update.

YAY for Sierra.

Now you're gonna know what it's like for the rest of us who have labs that sit and watch the clock for the half hour before feeding time. :brow:

Hi Hitch: What did you change in Sierra's meals. Please share! My Milo is so fussy. He eats 3 cups of dry kibbles per day. I mix in some wet, but some days he eats, other days his meals just sits there.

I changed his dry kibbles to Chicken Soup for Dog Lovers, he did well for about a week and he's back to not eating. He also developed itchy ears (first time ever). The vet said it's allergy related. I think it might be the new food. Someone told me that alot of dogs are allergic to chicken and corn.

What are you feeding Sierra?

She is on Wellness with Natural Balance food roll shredded on top. Didn't change any food - don't really know what happened. She just started eating a lot. She would do same as your lab - eat a new food entirely for a whole week, then back to old eating habits.

We gave her sardines on Fridays - loved it and ate a lot. Ate all meals for a week after that. Maybe looking for sardines in bottom of bowl - LOL. Now we give sardines 2x a week. She is not a breakfast dog - eats very little usually.

She is 1 yr - 40lbs - she gets 1 1/2 - 2 cups a day. Food is very rich and doesn't agree with some.

Good luck.

So glad to hear Sierra's been eating! :) She looks good, so I don't think you have too much to worry about. Bailey's almost 10 months now, last time I checked he was 76lbs and gets 4 cups a day. He STILL acts like he's starving whenever he sees anything that could possibly be edible. I don't know how he got so big. He has all this skin dangling so I don't know how much bigger he's going to get...

The little quirks and funny personalities of each dog make our lives so much more interesting.

Bailey did get very big. I remember first starting on the board - they were similar in size. Sierra has some wrinkly skin - is that what it means - more growing to do?

Yeah I don't mind that she's small - just as long as healthy & happy. That she is!

Thanks!
