Kasey is 7 months and was orginally on Kirkland Puppy Chicken and rice then we bought her some Innove EVO.. Then we figured out that she has a bit if an intolerance to chicken...(Really soft poop) so we went on the hunt again for Puppy Food that dosen't have chicken and found Nutro Lamb and Rice... Now her Stools are great on this!!

But....
On the other foods she ate like she haden't eaten for months.. ( like a normal lab I hear) and on Nutro it is a SLOW leaisurly (sp) pace...

Does she just not like the food a ton??? We could switch her again to an adult food ??

Again this si not the end of the world just wondering why...

sounds like she doesn't like it. I would try another, maybe the kirkland lamb and rice. maybe it is the brand, maybe she doesn't like lamb!

By the way that pic is so friggin cute!!

I don't know they don't have puppy formula at our Costco at all. I don't think at 7 mos though it would be a problem. Chopper started adult food at 10-11 mos. and some people feed only adult food.

My puppy started out scarfing his food down. Over the past couple of months he never eats his whole bowl in one sitting. I know everyone reccomends feeding twice a day, but I can't because if I did he wouldn't eat enough. I think my dog just eats slow and maybe yours does too.

He'd eat plenty once he figured out it wouldn't be sitting around all day :)

At 7 months, you could go to an adult food (or an all age food). Many people switch after the adult teeth are in. I'm curoius, did your pup have issues with the kirkland c&r? Or what made you switch to evo (which you should never give a puppy by the way)?

the thing is if we give her something else she doesn't eat slow just her kibble... if we are trainging and using kibble even then she goes at it like a hungry puppy.

Kasey has all her Adult teeth has for about a month and a half... Kasey's Issues with he Kirkland was the chicken content.

As for the Switch ot EVO we asked our trainer who is a breeder and the pet store ( small family business) what they would recomend and both recomended EVO... because she is past the 6 months range we thought it would be okay... it gave us no better results than the Kirkland that is when we figured out the intolerance to chicken...

So now if we come to the conclusion that we sould switch her food what should we swutch to... it is hard to find a large breed non chicken puppy formula...

Any recomendations??

Solid gold wolf cub is a lg breed puppy food. It is bison and salmon based.

I'm hoping your trainer isn't a breeder of a large breed. The calcium/phosphorus levels in evo are way too high for a lg breed puppy. Even the Evo people say that :)

sounds to me like her trainer pet store owner told you what he had in hist store, not what was right!

Have you try to mix his old formula with new formula? Once he gets use to new formula, he won't have much to adjust to. Just a thought.

Well it is a good thing that she isn't on it then :)

I will look for the Solid gold stuff around here... Thanks for the Help!
