I am just wondering why when I try to switch my dog over to nutro natural choice, that her rear end smells. It almost smells like fish. I remember reading somewhere that this could be an anal galnd issue? If so does the smell ever go away? Thank you for any info!:)

Is it always smelly or is your pup gassy? How long have you been "switching"?

Some foods don't agree with some dogs. We've always had good luck with Nutro NC but many people haven't. My dogs have never had anal gland issues, so thankfully I don't know the smell of it.
What are you feeding before the change of food? Do you NEED to change?

This happens about the 3rd day of the switch. I don't know if it is because of a softer stool(not mushy or diarrhea) or not. I currently feed my dog eukanuba and she has had bad ears, itching, and dandruff. I took her to the vet most recently for her ears and he said it was allergies(seasonal). I don't know if a switch of food will help, but I thought I would try, and it just seems that when I try to switch her over to nutro she gets smelly.
