Well - there are so many labs needing homes - and I feel kind of bad posting this - as it is not urgent - but someone that I know very well - needs to try to find a good home (or rescue) for her dog, Rose. The lady is getting elderly - and she has osteo-whatever it is - but her bones are so brittle (the lady) that if she is in a minor accident - her neck could snap. She is in excruciating pain every day - and they are experiencing very hard financial problems - they almost lost their house last year - and she is raising her grandchild. They are keeping their unadoptable dog (mutt with aggression issues sometimes) as he won't be able to get a home. This lady rescued the dog when the dog was a puppy at 6 weeks - she had a fx femur - but it is TOTALLY healed, and she likes to bounce just to show everyone. She nursed the puppy - and it was a hard job. But anyway, it really boils down to the lady's health, and not having enough $$ to take care of the dog properly (spading, shots, frontling (but I just bought her some), and even food sometimes is a problem - but the dog is very healthy.
She is a Dudley dog with green eyes. She smiles when she gets some attention. She is either 2 or 3 - she is registered - she is crate trained and very very affectionate. Good with people, and okay with cats. The problem with other dogs - is she is always vying for the attention - and also needs and introduction period with new dogs.
She could use some training. All she knows how to do now is retrieve, crate up, sit. But she picks up on things fairly quickly. She deserves a family that won't just put her in the crate when she goes inside.
PS pics can be posted next weekend when I have time to go there and take one.
