View Full Version : Smugmug users - question
Super_Cooper 03-07-2008, 12:02 PM I am having trouble pasting my smugmug pictures on this board! What am I doing wrong? I go to properties and copy the url and paste it with the image codes around it (or I also click on the photo image on top and paste it there).
Sometimes the photo shows up - and later it turns into a red x. Other times, it just starts out as a red x. Am I doing something wrong???
Luc-Luca-Lucas 03-07-2008, 12:06 PM That's the same thing I do. Odd?
karebear 03-07-2008, 12:07 PM hmmmmm sounds like you are doing it right....
Just make sure you get the whole url... sometimes it's longer than whats showing.
and slap a insert url here around it.... don't forget the back slash in the second img tag

karebear 03-07-2008, 12:10 PM I just tried to post your image.
Hey, i just thought of something. Do you have your settings so no one can steal your images?
And what version do you have?
Super_Cooper 03-07-2008, 12:10 PM I wonder if it has something to do with my browser. I had a lot of trouble when I was at home - and I was using firefox. NOTHING would show up, everything was a big red x.
At work I use ie - and it looks like it is hit or miss.
3lablady 03-07-2008, 12:11 PM I use Firefox and haven't had any problems putting my pics here.

I think I might! I can't remember where I picked that option though. . . is it on each album?
I have the power version (the middle version).

arg! I don't get it! With phanfare I could just copy and paste the actual image.
Luc-Luca-Lucas 03-07-2008, 12:14 PM I've used IE and Safari with no issues. I love Safari because there's a "copy link" option so I don't have to go to the properties.

And it worked! (poor Coop looks miserable :floor)
I've got to figure out what is happening at home. I will test it out tonight.

Never heard of Safari - do you like it? I had to use firefox when I moved all of my photos from phanfare to smugmug, so I decided to try it out.

It's a Mac browser. We have that and Firefox on the Mac but I have all of my stuff saved on Safari so I use that most often.
karebear 03-07-2008, 12:30 PM hey wait! Now it's an x!

ooooook, so maybe it is the board? ?? I don't get it!
Try going to the gallery then under tools choose customize gallery and then scroll down to security & privacy and make sure ext. links is set to yes, and protected is set to no. Then save.
I find once I have a gallery set to what I like I save it as my default and then only customize as needed.
