Any thoughts on this food? Does anyone here use it? It looks like a great food with fewer fat and calories which is always good for Labs. I would love to hear from anyone that has been using this food. Thanks!

I use the Hunden Flocken type, which is made with lamb. I like it. It is extremely expensive which is why I am try to start carrying it. I figure at the very least I can just get it at the wholesale price for my dogs. Right now, depending on where I buy it, I pay between $36 -$42 for a 33lb bag. The closest place to me to find it is about 45 mins away but I think it is worth it.
I had one lab with chronic ear infections. After about 3-4 weeks on this food, I haven't had an issue with them. It has been great.
You can choose which type of base you want you dogs to be on; lamb, fish, beef, or bison. Each kind has it's own benefit with it's own calorie counts. The only thing I don't like is the limited places you can buy it from. I would like all my puppies to stay on it but that isn't always possible.
They also have their own dog biscuits and jerky treats. I use them for bait when I show my dogs.

Thanks for your input. Do you have good results with your dogs mantaining their weight on this food? I currently feed my 3 year old Lab, the Wellness line of dog food...they make a chicken and a lamb...but sometimes I feel that maybe this food is too rich for him. I only feed him about a cup and a half twice a day. But I think he is starting to get a little chunky. He weighs 75 lbs right now and I wouldn't want him any heavier than that. I think I will give Solid Gold a try. It has less calories than the Wellness.

OK, I'll bite...

If you're happy with Wellness but feel he's getting a bit chunky, why not just reduce the amount you're feeding?

Zack's coat became very dry on the Hunden Flocken(lamb-based). He liked it fine but he needed more fat in his diet. I never tried the Solid Gold MMillenia, it has a higher percentage of fat but it is beef based and Zack is allergic to beef. I agree, stay with Wellness just feed a little less.

I think you are right. I have not had any problems with Wellness...my dog is healthy and beautiful. I noticed that Solid Gold has way less fat. Perhaps I could cut back a little and fill in with green beans. I heard many people use green beans as a filler.
