I know I've posted a thread about Innova but wanted to know if anyone has tried Solid Gold Food (preferably Wolfcub Puppy- Large Breed)? The website is www.solidgoldhealth.com. It has come highly recommened especially for large breed puppies. The main ingredients are Bison, Salmon, Brown Rice, Millet. I use their treats for training for my jack and he loves them. If anyone has tried this or knows anything about this product, I'd love to hear your opinion! THANKS!

Maybe Caly's Mom will ring in. I know that is what she feeds Caly. I don't know about that particular kind, but Solid Gold I know.

I like the company and the look of the food, but have only used their canned products.
Jack came to me on this. He was doing GREAT on it.
Recently he started getting not so much runny poop, but not good poops (if that makes sense)
I am having a hard time now with foods. My food store highly recommends Solid Gold :)

My dogs have been on Solid Gold for years & do well on it (though they are not on large breed formula). My oldest has suffered from terrible allergies for years, so I am thinking of trying her on a grain-free diet. If it doesn't make a difference, it will be back to Solid Gold.

I have also been interested in the possible switch to Solid Gold. Today I read this in another dog forum:
based on all of the criteria and ingredient profiles on www.mordanna.com/dogfood and many other's I would say the Solid Gold has produced the BEST coats, best weight, best stools, best health of all other's regardless where anyone else ranks them. We have a friend who breeds labs and shows and she said the growth rate on their labs on the Wolf Cub has been outstanding and moderate. This is from experience and not kennel testing in a big facility. Puppies being weaned (larger breeds, onto the Wolf Cub) are doing wonderful. It's the ingredients MOST of all that are most important and sometimes a food that is more calorie dense is not good for some dog's who may be prone to packing it on easier. Good muscle tone on Solid Gold and they stay lean. It say's something about the protein they are getting too.
Bailey (over 2 years old now) has done nothing but gain weight on the last couple of kibbles (Innova and EVO) even though I keep cutting down the portions. I want something that satifies him (both filling and nutrition wise) but does not "pack it on".

I finally bought the Solid Gold after much research and both of my dogs love it. JATKC - thanks for quoting that article. I have Riley on the Wolf Cub - large breed and my jack is now on the Hundchen (sp?) puppy. He seems to like the bison of the wolf cub as well but i'm waiting to put him on adult for a few more months (Hundchen doesnt have bison). Today was the first day of mixing with the Innova (for Riley)so we'll see how the next few weeks go. The Solid Gold is more expensive but I just really for comfortable feeding my dogs this brand of food that has the ingredients/percentages I feel is appropriate for labs (and my jack) and also has a very good reputation.
by the way, my jack has completely rejected the Innova puppy after being on it for 5 months - he wont even take a bite but he likes the solid gold!
