Anyone putting together a Southern California Lab Fest? Keep me posted!! Let's start arranging one down in Southern Cali. Anybody interested??


I have 4 labs that my parents would definitely bring to and I am adopting one of which I get this Friday that I would be interested in getting her out to.

Can we plan something for say August or September???

I would be interested. I live in central orange county, so we're a bit far from each other, but as more people become interested we can find a central location. Keep me posted.

We are in Camarillo. Temecula is about 1 1/2 hours drive away from us. Huntington Beach is about the same.

Well, I'm in Huntington Beach most weekends, so that would be cool with me.

Can we make a plan for August? Maybe on a sunday morning when it's less crowded? By August our new puppy will be fully vaccinated and able to join in on the fun! Yea!

I'm up for the beach...(or anywhere:) ) I was just thinking about the crowds at the beach too. (Especially during the holidays)
Last time we had the lab fest there it was a Saturday lunch time and it was manic:eek:

I put out a feeler thread before the crash, and we were talking about camping out near Big Bear Lake, Ca. Sometime in August. Lets keep throwing dates and places out there and see what we can come up with.

What about Saturday August 19 or Sunday August 20th??

Do we have more suggestions on locations?? lake, beach, ect??

Either of those dates works for me. I travel to O.C. a lot so I can attend "down the mountain" as I call it. Dog beach is always fun. Lets be real specific on a meeting place however. last time I missed a lot of the board members due to being at a different lifeguard station.

Oh for sure once we agree to a location we will make a specific location to meet and have everyone be able to hang out. :)

My friend just went to Big bear lake and her pup came home with bad ticks....is it a bad season right now?

is this still a possibility??? i'm in san diego and there are thousands of places here, but it sounds like most of you all are further north. i wouldn't mind driving a bit though. if it's a lab fest, can you bring your other dog that's not a lab :p: - i couldn't think of leaving poor bear at home. i think he's got some lab in him so that should count. anyway, there is a place in san diego at mission bay called fiesta island that is totally off leash - basically a big island. i totally understand if that would just be too far though for most of you. let's keep throwing ideas around!

If it's a weekend we're in town, we'd definately go. If we do Huntington, someone pick a life guard tower or land mark so we don't wind up missing each other like I did last time:D
We're home the weekend of August 26th and Sept. 9th and 23rd. Do any of those weekends work for anyone?

Weekend of Aug 26th is out for me. My Dad arrives here then 'till 30th. But any other weekend works......my calender is empty any other weekend except that one...........Yeah I know....Billy no mates:D :D :D

Why don't we say Sept 23 and see how many people we can interested. Who else can or can't make this date?

September 23rd works for me. It seems so far away, but Makena will be just over 4 months by then and ready for her first ocean experience. :)

As of now, Sept 23 is ok for us, but once school starts and the sports schedule is up, things may change...we'd love to make it if we can!!

Aw bummer we won't be able to make that one. Football. :(
