I know it's a big place but wonder if anyone on this board is from around San Antonio...thinking as Aowynn gets bigger it would be great to have other friends for her to hang out with...maybe a play date once a month or something???

I'm in Texas but about 3 hours from you. I know that doesn't help but I have seen other Texans on here, just don't know where they are lurking:D

We're in Dallas. Maybe we can recruit from all over the state? If it was on a weekend, we could make a trip to Austin.

I live close to Waco! And work in Belton. Maybe we could all get together sometime! My pup is five months old...black lab, named Zeke!

We're in San Antonio. It seems like there are a lot of Labs around our neighborhood. Not a lot of water though!

Here in Houston too - near the Katy area to be exact...but currently I am on bedrest and not able to travel around..but give me about 6 weeks and maybe...course then will have to bring not only my labby love but my new baby love ;)

Sorry I am late on this. We are in Windcrest which is on the northeast side of town. I didn't realize that you were here. We would love to get together. Shadow is about 6 months old and looking for playmates. Let me know.

Aowynn I think is getting spayed that month :(so it's just going to have to be about timing...but October seems good and cooler than before!

I live in Plano near Dallas and i would definatley be game for letting our dogs play just give me a time and date and a little advance notcie and it wouldnt be any problem.

The parks are in the Woodlands...I'll try and contact them today to see about setting something up! :)

The park in The Woodlands just recently opened, I live 10min away and STILL haven't been there:) That'd be great to have a get together there, close for me!!

The Woodlands is 30 miles north of houston settled in between Spring and Conroe. I had to mapquest Windcrest and it said you are in San Antonio, we're about 3 hours from you.

Gunnergirl: where do you live?

I'm game for a playdate there in the Woodlands. Shadow would love the ride. Peggy dw would like to come too. Just let me know when.

I went last week to the dog park, it was fun! Lots of labbies there playing with balls and frisbees, mine was exhausted after 10 minutes and just layed under the park bench.:rolleyes: I am going to take her 2X a week now at least to try and get her to lose some weight.
We are going again today,should be fun. It's a really big place w/hardly any shade..just a tiny gazebo but it's a big place for the dogs to run and even has a red firehydrant for the dogs!

Max & Leeloo want to go too! Let me know when. :)

There is a park like that here in San Antonio also, however, there is very little shade :mad: I don't understand. As hot as it is you would think that they would provide more trees or at least put some small ones in that will grow.:confused:

I have a decent sized yard and could probably accomodate a gathering of about 15 or so labs. Might be a little crazy but what the heck. I'm game. :brow: At least my yard is in shade of one kind or another most of the day. Let me know who would be interested and I will see if I can convince dw to host a mini lab fest here. BTW.... Windcrest is in San Antonio. Y'all come now. :eek:

I emailed the contacts for the dog park but have never heard back so I'm assuming that if we all wanted to get together there one weekend-we'd just need to show up since there is no membership fee and such??

The dog park has a little gazebo w/2 benches back to back, just the gazebo roof is really tiny when there's more than 4 people out there!! It barely hangs over the benches, I'm not complaining b/c it's great having a dog park so close to me, just wish it was a little larger for when it's so hot outside (10 months of the year) :)

would be great to have a lab meet there, I think you can rent it if needed for only $10 (don't quote me on that) but if we have a small group we wouldn't even have to bother.

I'm game just let me know what you decide. We can have it there or here at my place.

The 4th works for me....Aowynn is going to be getting spayed sometime in the month of Oct...not sure when but if she's not scheduled till later in the month we will be there with bells on )

A tardy reply. An Austinite checking in. I am busy the weekend of the 8th but would love to bring my girls to, and perhaps help coordinate, the next one.
