Why did I spend so much time choosing a food for my dogs that has meat #1 when they make the treats with wheat #1? That is very frustrating. Is giving wheat based treats going to conflict with the meat based food?:tapfoot:

Why not just buy meat-based treats? There are plenty of jerkeys, freeze-dried liver etc on the market.

Why not get a nice large bag of Innova Health Bars, no wheat, corn or soy and the dogs love them..they come in small and large, for training treats get the small ones..

Now if you want your dog to do anything you want him to do, get these...you can even train him to ask for these by name!.

I don't buy treats with wheat as the main ingredient. There are several meat based treats to buy or just take your dog's kibble and sprinkle some Parmesan cheese over them in a sealed baggie.

my number one training treat are Natural Balance rolls. The dogs get EVO or CN cookies as during the day -family is leaving now -treats

There are some good treats you can use with NO grains or wheat. Natural balance rolls are a great example or even benny bully

And if you look at some prepackaged raw companies they often have good treats with absoluly no grains or wheat

One great tip for shopping for this kind of product - do not go to petsmart or big chains, try the local shops (mayve even feed shops) or order online.

ETA: Jake and Daiseys have treats

As does PawNaturals

TOO FUNNY. my lab snatched a pack of Nathan's hot dogs off the counter while I was lighting the grill this weekend!! She loved them. I guess now I will have to get the treats
