Hi all,

I know these aren't labs but this is a desperate situation. There were supposed to be 4 pups on the transport but one was PTS before they could get them moved. So a newfy was added. I am not posting the whole transport but just the legs that are desperately needed. This transport meets ALL requirements (vetted, UTD, etc.) or I wouldn't be posting it.

These pups are coming from TX to MN so it is a long one and all legs are filled except for the ones I'm posting.

Crossposted from a transport group.

Penny

Okay EVERYBODY.....NOW HEAR THIS.....911 FOR THIS TRANSPORT

The transport is already underway. The pups have been pulled from the shelter and the newf is traveling with the pups. They are overnighting in Tyler Texas. We lost 2 legs in KS due to the driver having a family emergency (her mother went into the hospital). Please can someone meet this transport in Tonkawa, OK and fill these 3 legs? What better do you have to do for some excitement on your Saturday night? Think how exciting it will be to save 4 beautiful dogs and you can get a Braums to boot.....man that's living.

Please contact Denise at: Shun911sgirl@hotmail.com or Donna at: dpalen@msn.com. Come on Oklahoma and Kansas....these dogs are already on their way home.....don't let something happen now that they are out of their prisons. Hey, I'm just the messenger for Denise and Donna. But are you going to be THE ONE that lets this Grandma down.

Okay, I have to get off line for someone to be able to call me. I have sent an email to both people. I can help but I have to know whether I need to change cars with the SO and his is about an hour from me. He has an SUV, I have a sedan. Have no idea where Tonwaka is, but I guess I'll learn. Penny, I am going to PM my home number to you in case my email did not make to these two people. Sending me email or posting more to this board will NOT be a good way to reach me for this sort of thing. Susan

Transport filled!!! Thanks for the offer to help Susan!! :cheers2:

And the newfy is a new addition to the transport. Hmmmm....good thing I have an SUV. Things are gonna be a little crowded in my vehicle for 200 miles. :)

Mickie, I didn't get to do this. As soon as I saw the PM from Penny, I went into overdrive with emails to the two coordinators, off the computer so the phone could ring, sneak in a call to the SO to see if I could trade cars. This was a cross post because the pups are not labs (don't know what they are) and then a newf was thrown in. I LOVE newfs and just couldn't wait! Plus the Wichita to Ottawa drive is one I could do about blindfolded, given how often I go to Overland Park on business. :fastcar: Phone doesn't ring, phone doesn't ring. Pick it up to ensure dial tone. Quick put it back down.  I mean I have NO life and am thrilled about being able to do this. :floor I've also already identified the best way to Tonkawa from where I would pick up the SUV (SO works out of town). Finally, I think, well maybe they emailed me or posted to the board, better check. The needed legs were already filled; in fact, I think they filled about as fast as the plea went out. That's the power of: the internet, rescue groups, boards like this, and the love we have for dogs! :)

I'm glad that the transport legs were filled, but bummed that you weren't able to do them. I can't wait to do one! I think it would be so rewarding and exciting!

Susan, I am getting ready to head out the door to meet up with this transport. The pups I believe are shep mix pups. I have no idea what they are referring to when they say shep but I guess I will find out soon. There were supposed to be 4 pups but I guess the shelter screwed up and put one of the pups down. :tissue: So the newfie was added instead. I too love newfies. Actually, I love all the BIG dogs. If I had my way I would have a house full of newfies, mastiffs, great danes and pyr's.

I will take pics and post them when I get home so you can see the newfie. :cheers2:

Penny, me too about loving BIG dogs. I knew one pup was put down; it is a sick feeling when help was literally on its way. Can't wait to see the pics! Susan

Here are the pups and newfie who came all the way from Texas to Minnesota!! Chester, the newfie, is AKC registered and was going to his forever home. :cheers2:

The 3 pups were just adorable even though the worming they received made for many frequent stops. But they are now in rescue and will be quickly adopted!!

Yes, Chester really is huge!!

The pups looking down on Chester - from left to right - Bree, Annie and Jackson (a previous transporter named them since they were nameless until she picked them up.)

Still wondering why Chester got to be outside the vehicle and they couldn't be.

Enjoying the nice hot breeze. Poor pups are probably thinking MN isn't much cooler than TX since it was 93 yesterday.

It was a great but long transport.

Oh Penny, thank you for saving all these guys! The newf is absolutely gorgeous. Good thing the transport filled and no one needed me. If I had seen him, I think the person who met up with my last leg would have heard, "Newf? What newf? Nope, no newf on this transport." :)

Like Mickie, I'm looking forward to when I get to help with my first transport.

What gorgeous pups! I would have had to rent an 8 passenger minivan though! That was a serious transport!
