Okay - so I finally went and bought a package of Companion Raw food - I got the beef version - came in a frozen plastic container. Yesterday I thought I'd try it.

Zeus ate his right away. Gerogia smelled it and then looked at me as if to say "I'm supposed to eat this?" So I put hers back in the container and just gave her a small spoonful - that she ate, but wouldn't eat anymore even if I gave her a little at a time. So I guess it's kibble for her.

By the way I just switched kibble to Fromm Family Whitefish and Potato - all natural etc. They still LOVE it. I thought at first it may have been the excitement of new food, but Zeus, who was never a morning eater, just loves it and gobbles it down.

How exciting! Drum took a very long time to decide that raw was ok. It was chicken necks that did it for him, and once he had those he enthusiastically tried everything else. Looking forward to hearing how it unfolds, any changes you see in them, etc!

Man, I miss Bravo! :(

Unfortunately I don't see them on an all raw diet. This stuff is extremely expensive. Do you think it's okay for every now and then or will that totally screw up their system?

I hope not :(

I'm giving them raw breakfast & kibble dinner now. Just can't afford doing the whole raw diet, even making it all myself.

Just don't feed raw and kibble at the same time!

They are digested very differently. Raw food stays in the system for about 4 to 6 hours and kibble says in the system for 12-14 hours (according to both Volhard and Pitcairns books)! I think that raw for breakfast and kibble for dinner is ok though.
