Crossposted from FH. :)
He has had a pretty rough life so far. A woman who volunteers for the GSD rescue, was our walking her kids to the bus stop, when she saw about 12 puppies running around in a front yard (no fence) with a little girl sitting outside with them.
She asked her if they were Labs (to strike up conversation) and the little girl said, "Yeah, my mom and dad are giving them away, do you want one?". So the volunteer asked if her mom was home and the little girl took her inside to meet her. When they woman walked inside, there was messes everyone (lots pf poop.. etc and all sorts of messes EVERYwhere throughout the house. The woman explained that their two labs got hooked up ( ) and they didn't know what to do with the pups. They took her outside, she saw the parents, both parents were emaciated and looked worn out. :( Yellow male and a black female.
The woman offered to take three of them off of her hands right then (she has a yorkie with seizures, a young lab and a GSD, so she already was in for it with her husband when she got home with the three) She got home and two of them died within the first couple days from Parvo. This little guy was eating/drinking/playing, but of course she took him in with the other two and he, for some miracle, didn't contract it (I didn't even think that would be possible based on the living conditions she described). He had two types of worms, but no parvo. She has had him for a month and as of today, he is officially cleared of all worms and is 100% healthy.
This weekend, I am calling the vet to confirm all of the vetting that has been done and just make sure all of this checks out as true - and if so, we'll be taking him in shortly after.
I just wanted to share some pictures, he is pretty mellow and really sweet. She's already working on his housebreaking and working with him on the crate.

Oh, also.. they have no idea what happened to the rest of the pups or the parents. :( I will be asking her if she found anything else out, maybe we can take in the parents. :(
