I liked it a lot better than the first one with Daniel Craig. So many times, I caught myself gasping, yelling out, laughing... I really enjoy seeing movies in the theater!
DH, a Bond aficionado, was also impressed. We found the action as a lot better and there was more 'feeling' to it.

My husband saw the movie recently......here's what he had to say. :o:
My wife asked me to write my opinion of Quantum of Solace. I saw the movie the other night with some of my friends. We felt that the director was aiming at a younger audience, trying to develop a new generation of Bond fans. The action scenes were edited with the speed of an MTV video. At times it felt like you were watching 12 year olds playing a video game.Dialogue and plot development took a back seat to the flash, bang, pow of an action adventure movie. The producers took a suave, sophisticated British secret agent and turned him into some kind of spiderman superhero who can almost fly and leap tall buildings in a single bound. The best line in the movie came when Bond and his female politically correct co-superhero emerged from the exploding rubble of a burning hotel. We are led to believe that the hotel is located in the middle of a Bolivian desert, literally miles from anywhere. First of all.....why is a hotel there? But, as they stumble away from the inferno, Bond turns to her and says in all seriousness...."wait here".........uh, sure, as if there is somewhere else to go......very profound.
The scariest part of Bond movies used to be the evil, creepy villains.
In Quantum of Solace the scariest scene was watching a closeup of actress Judi Dench as "M" wiping makeup and cold cream off her face.......I won't even discuss the tepid theme song. I like Daniel Craig as Bond. I think there is a lot of potential for his portrayal as Bond. Unfortunately, in my opinion this director took 007 in an absurdly ridiculous direction. I only hope that the next one brings him in from the cold.

Wow! I'm going to put a warning about spoilers on the title now. :D
Speaking as a woman who has no allegiance to the whole Bond thing, I pretty much have to suspend disbelief when I see these movies. To me, none of the ones that I've seen have been realistic, between the action and gadgets and the car chase scenes... So although I thought a lot of the things in it were unrealistic, I forgive that.
I agree that the quick 1 second frames make me dizzy sometimes. The absolute worst for me was the second Bourne movie - even the long frames were jittery with that new thing that filmmakers do where they jerk the camera on purpose. I actually get nauseous sometimes when I see movies or commercials that do that.
The whole thing with Judi Dench wiping her face was really weird, wasn't it? I kept expecting to see a reason for them to do that. Like someone slipped acid into her cold cream or something!
I enjoyed it anyway though. I liked the female lead, I don't know why you call her politically correct though? I thought she was gorgeous. I really thought he was going to shoot her in the head.

I saw it last night. I am also no Bond afficianado, but I couldn't get next to this one. As Lovemylabby's husband said, it was edited way to fast. Too many chase scenes and not nearly enough dialoge. At some point during the movie I realized I had no idea what was going on.
I like the funny dialogue from the old movies: "do you expect to talk?" "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!" That's what makes Bond movies to me.
I also thought the "Bond girl" was beautiful, but she just didn't feel like a bond girl to me. I almost feel like the real bond girl was the chick who ended up covered in oil (that was nice nod to Goldfinger).
Anyway, I thought the plot was thin and I enjoyed Casino Royale much better.
Daniel Craig though....woof! He's a hottie!
