I'm curious between the two which are preferred and why? How do you feel about the high protein levels in the food and what kind of results have you seen on them.

View Full Version : Wellness core or Merrick grain free kibble? 3lablady 09-28-2008, 01:54 PM I'm curious between the two which are preferred and why? How do you feel about the high protein levels in the food and what kind of results have you seen on them. GussyandHudson 09-28-2008, 10:40 PM I chose Merrick before Grain...only because I have never tried Wellness. I really like the before grain food but am not sure if I would only feed the food. I supplement EVO or Cal Natural with the BG cans that are pure meat and the dogs LOVE them and I have fed the kibble and both dogs loved it. I tend to rotate between CN, EVO, Innova and Merrick (and others if I feel like trying them). Both of my dogs have done well on all of these foods although EVO tends to be our staple. coopers mom 09-29-2008, 02:12 AM I didn't vote but I did like the wellness fish formula. I don't use any formula with chicken in it therefore I will never be using any of the merrick BG kibble formulas. I also use a rotation of several brands. I am currently using California natural lamb and rice now. I have used the merrick BG cans along with the regular merrick grain free cans ( the older cans) Lab Mom 09-29-2008, 10:30 AM I didn't vote because I can't get Wellness Core but I don't use the Merrick BG except for the cans. We use EVO dry and canned. Just one thing to note about the Merrick BG dry is that they use chicken as a protein source in all varieties in case you have a dog allergic to chicken.
