LindaAcup 07-23-2005, 02:26 PM Only 5? Wow, that's kinda small for a lab's litter, isn't it? (Not that I know, because I don't do puppies, but they sure are adorable.!!!) Taylor was it too bad or not? Someday I may get enough nerve to try, but they scare me. LOL You all are wonderful!! Now, don't get too attached, and turn into a foster failure with all 5!!! LOL Good job!!
:) Oh my they are gorgeous!!! :)
Good JOB!

autumnsmom 07-23-2005, 03:44 PM From the looks of her we thought there would be more too. She had 6 one was still born...poor little boy. 5 is enough don't need any more homeless labs in this world that is for sure. Charlotte did almost all the work she is a good mommy.
Snickerz2001 07-23-2005, 03:52 PM Only 5? Wow, that's kinda small for a lab's litter, isn't it? (Not that I know, because I don't do puppies, but they sure are adorable.!!!) Taylor was it too bad or not? Someday I may get enough nerve to try, but they scare me. LOL You all are wonderful!! Now, don't get too attached, and turn into a foster failure with all 5!!! LOL Good job!!
She had 6, but the last black male was stillborn. :frown: I'm actually relieved that she's had 5 healthy puppies. She went through a lot in the middle of her pregnancy, being dumped at a shelter and then being moved into a new home with me. And her size has a lot to do with how much milk she is producing, which is plenty. Her mammory glands took up half her belly size - she atleast we know she's got plenty of milk for the little ones.
Last night wasn't that bad. I managed to sleep between 12:30-2:30am, she had her first pup at 3:30am. Then I managed to get an hour or so of sleep between him and her second. She waited quite a while to have her second, and I actually called my vet on emergency call - and before he could call me back she delivered 2 within 5 minutes of eachother and then another 20 minutes after. Guess she didn't wanna go to the vet! lol
When they are walkin' around and getting into things - ask me again if it's "too bad". I might have a different answer then! :floor
PATEX 07-23-2005, 05:07 PM They are wonderful! Good job, Charlotte! And good job, Taylor! I am quite surprised that there were only 6! I was looking at the pictures of that belly and thinking there were 10! It is a blessing that there weren't 10, though.
lovefor4labs 07-23-2005, 10:33 PM I know someonewho might want to adopt one of the pups when they are ready!
