View Full Version : What's your favorite brand of diapers? Ti-Loup 02-11-2007, 10:33 AM I've been using Pampers Swaddlers, but find that he's always wet on his back, I'm really starting to hate these diapers. Any suggestions? klr2k 02-11-2007, 10:49 AM I love and have always used Huggies. They cost a bit more - but I swear by them, seriously......the hospital sends us home with the Pampers and as soon as they're gone I get right to using the Huggies. :) Paws n Jaws 02-11-2007, 10:53 AM See, the local myth around here is that Huggies work best for boys and Pampers work best for girls....or at least that's what all the parents are telling us. klr2k 02-11-2007, 10:54 AM See, the local myth around here is that Huggies work best for boys and Pampers work best for girls....or at least that's what all the parents are telling us. Well that could be true - but all I have are boys. :p: BUT my sister used nothing but Huggies on my neice and she swears by them as well. :) TheDukesMom 02-11-2007, 10:55 AM Ray, I love that little baby-gaga thing. Did you see what it said about rolling the eyes? They are already getting the 'tude ready for you and Krista! Uh oh! lovefor4labs 02-11-2007, 10:59 AM Huggies worked best for us, but I have two girls. happyhomer 02-11-2007, 11:21 AM we like cloth;) . HeatherA 02-11-2007, 11:58 AM Believe it or not, the COSTCO brand, Kirkland are my favorites. You might want to try to go up a size too. Louie&Lola 02-11-2007, 12:05 PM I only use Pampers. Everything else leaks and makes my kid's booty break out in yucky rashes (my daughter used Pampers too before she was potty trained). Same goes for wipes. I only use Pampers Sensitve. allysmama 02-11-2007, 12:06 PM We usually use Luvs although I like Pampers. I think the Baby Dry and the Luvs are the same diaper. I hated Huggies. Olivia peed out the side of them. I did just buy them again because they were on sale so they came out cheaper than the Luvs. So we''l see if they work now that she is bigger. I don't like that Luvs don't have stretchy tabs. malweth 02-11-2007, 12:07 PM We are a Pampers family. We had horrible luck with Huggies leaking (as did 3 of my friends.) The only time Pampers have leaked for us is when they are getting too small and it is time to move up to the next size. Luvs also did not leak for us but I found the tabs to not be as secure (which led to Julian removing the diaper at night...he was about a year and a half at the time.) Kona's Mommy 02-11-2007, 12:34 PM I use Luvs and I love them. The huggies never fit Zach right. allysmama 02-11-2007, 12:43 PM Yeah it's like the Huggies don't fit right. How do you guys like not having the stretchy tabs on the Luvs when they are bigger and are moving? Does it really make a difference? If not I'll keep using the Luvs. angus&teddy 02-11-2007, 12:48 PM It also depends on how your baby is built. One kind will fit baby X perfectly but fit baby Y horribly. The kind that fits baby Y doesn't fit baby X. Ti-Loup 02-11-2007, 01:17 PM Believe it or not, the COSTCO brand, Kirkland are my favorites. You might want to try to go up a size too. I thought about giving these a try, heck if I don't like them, I'll change. Black Olive 02-11-2007, 08:35 PM For newborn, I love Pampers Swaddlers. After we moved out of them I tried almost every brand of diaper available. The only thing that didn't give my son a horrible rash was Huggies Supreme. I hate regular Huggies, but the Huggies Supreme Natural Fit are awesome. Homer, what kind of cloth are you using? I gave it a shot but I couldn't find a diape to fit my son right and couldn't afford to keep buying new. I also had some terrible experiences w/ diapes gotten from diaperswappers. Not to mention, for whatever reason every single time my son wore one he got a super bad rash. Everyone swore by FB's but I hated them. Happy Heinys were okay. I wanted to give BumGenius a shot but once I sold off my stash I lost interest. DawnB 02-11-2007, 09:02 PM I liked the Pamper Swaddler/Cruisers line best with both of my kids (a girl and a boy). My daughter had terrible rashes from Huggies, so I never went back. As a newborn I never could figure out how my son could pee up his back, but he did it too. Depending on how big your baby is, you may need to go up to the size 1 if you are using newborn. Newborn never lasted us more than a week or two and my neighbors 9 pound baby never used them. Just buy a small pack of some different brands and see what works best for you. happyhomer 02-12-2007, 08:07 AM Homer, what kind of cloth are you using? I wanted to give BumGenius a shot but once I sold off my stash I lost interest. i use regular old prefolds from a diaper service with bummis super whisper wrap covers. http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/bummis.htm i hate laundry, so the service is great for us and it costs about half as much as disposables (and better for the environment, too!) my cousin used to get a rash from cloth, but i think it was from the detergent that their diaper service used... ours uses a nice eco friendly one. i dont like fuzzi bunz either. almost every time we use a disposable it leaks on us! the few times we ran out of prefolds my husband actually put a diaper cover over the disposable because he doesnt trust them. Mommy's 2 Girls 02-12-2007, 10:55 AM My sister used Huggies on both boys and never had a issue. She always did a special trick too....make their thing point down before you put the diaper over it. It never leaked. Bardocka 02-12-2007, 01:07 PM Suzie One Size are probably my favorite diapers... http://sosdiapers.wahmweb.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=Diapering&Sub=6&isThumbs=No&Thumbs= with wool covers. Though we usually use a Fuzzi Bunz or Bum Genius at night. mousse's mum 02-12-2007, 01:09 PM PAMPERS .definatly. i personally dont like huggies. they are ok, but not as good as pampers Riggs 02-12-2007, 08:16 PM I too love the Kirkland brand from Costco. Not sure if they have Costcos in all the states or Canada. Right now I have Huggies for our boy, and he too gets wet up his back. Will have to experiment since last time we had a girl, will see if different types make a difference with gender. Leslie 02-13-2007, 06:35 AM See, the local myth around here is that Huggies work best for boys and Pampers work best for girls....or at least that's what all the parents are telling us. I did the opposite! I liked Huggies for my girls but I like Pampers for my baby boy. I was using Luvs but he would leak out the top (yes, I pointed it down like I'm supposed to:) ). We haven't had any trouble leaking out the back. sadylady 02-13-2007, 07:26 AM I tried Pampers with my son. For some reason, he was allergic to them. I then tried Huggies and they were great. I use Huggies Supreme for my daughter. I swear by them. Never a leak, nothing. BaxtersMama 02-13-2007, 07:33 AM I think it just depends on the child. I've always used Pampers cruisers with my kids. I've tried Luvs and Huggies with no success. Louie&Lola 02-19-2007, 08:50 PM Plus, Pampers has that rewards program which is nice. I wish they offered diapers as a reward though!!! |
