I have a really agressive chewer and was wondering what kind of bones to buy him. I have heard bad things about everything that I buy. What is the best? I usually shop at petsmart, target or wal-mart. I really need to find something safe I would hate to injure my dog by giving him something that I think is safe. Thanks

I have heard the pressed rawhide are good, but I am still not sure. I will be watching to see what others respond.

im gonna cast my vote for raw marrow bones!!! i have not found any chew toy at the petstore that i think is safe... my rottie can break any rawhide in half in a couple of chomps. i have tried cow hooves and cooked bones from the petstore.. both of these splinter into dangerous sharp pieces. i give my dogs a marrow bone once a week, i buy them at the butcher but i have seen them at the supermarket as well.
check out this thread with pictures of dogs chewing on marrow bones.... those are some happy dogs!

I second the vote for the marrow bones. I ask the butcher for femurs and he cuts them into three pieces for me. My pups love both the shaft and the knuckle of the bone. You may want to scoop out some of the marrow the first few times giving them however. The marrow is very rich and may cause some dogs stomach upset and diarrhea. Good Luck!

Make that three votes for marrow bones! I love that our dogs teeth are so nice and white from their weekly bones!

Raw marrow bones are the only bones we use for chewing. They last FOREVER and have no chemicals or additives :D
