Hello again,

Just a quick question. Will I cause any long term damage to my Jackson by not feeding a super premium food as a puppy. I am currently feeding him Iams LB Puppy (as per breeder requests)and I know that is not the best by any means but he seems to eat it and his stools are for the most part good and solid. I plan to put him on a high quality diet when i switch him to adult food. Any suggestions on the adult food would be greatly appreciated also.

I do not think anyone can tell 100% that any specific food will be 100% responsible for something that could go wrong with your puppy.

In Pet food, to some extent you get what you pay for.

Iams uses more fillers in their first 10 ingredients than do many other foods. High filler content then takes up room for quality ingredients, and is generally responsible for larger in size and more in volume stools.

However if you are not planning on putting your pup/dog through the rigors of field training and or competition then you more than likely will not notice any benefit from feeding a super permium food. In fact you could actually do harm by creating excess protein and fat in your dogs system.

Good Luck!!!
