This is Ryan. The shelter wants to put Ryan down because he has yeast in his ears and a staph infection on his paws, they think this will make him hard to adopt out. Both very treatable conditions.

He's been temperment tested, friendly dog, no food issues, got along great with females and ok with males (neither of them were neuter not a good test), he will sit on command and only pulls a little on his leash. Ryan is between one an two years old.
I'm working on a foster home but by the time I finalize everything it may be too late for Ryan. He was scheduled to be put down the 12th but Paula convinced the shelter we were working on getting him into rescue. So they are allowing him more time...for now.
Puala says this pic doesn't do him justice.

We got the shelter to hold Ryan until the 23rd unless space becomes an issue. What a good looking dog..not even 2.

Deneen,
I have been driving myself crazy trying to think of someone who could foster this guy for you!!! Have you found anyone?

Is Ryan good with other dogs? You said he was tested but both were unaltered and wasn't a good test? Coleman is 8 and has issues with some male dogs - the intact and dominate ones to be exact. I will talk to SO about fostering if he is submissive and can travel. Our home is to small to keep them separated. We also have a feline, although we have had fosters in the past that were interested in him. He is a rescue so street wise when it comes to dogs.

From what Paula (volunteer at shelter) told me. He was very good with the females. He and the other unaltered male got a little pushy but never agressive. She felt is was not a good enough test w/males to judge him. They have not tested him with cats but I'm sure she could not problem.

I have a foster that can take him but not until the 23rd. Paula told me today Ryan has kennel cough. I'm not sure if they'll issue a health cert with KC. He is on antibiotics. Paula is going to ask if being on antibiotics from today until the 23rd will be long enough for the health cert. According to PA Dog Law I need one on every out of stater..I could be fined per rescue. He is ok as long as space doesn't become an issue.

Can we get him boarded at the vet until he can get the certs - If the shelter runs out of space?

I am SO glad to hear that you found a foster for this guy. An ear infection and a yeast infection on his skin should not be reasons to be put down! My Holly gets these ALL OF THE TIME with her allergies, and both are highly treatable. I was really worried about him....

If you need help getting him a temp foster let me know just so he isn't PTS let me know. I just can't keep him more than a week or so as I have hardly any room and three dogs.

I think he is too cute and would make a great family dog.
