Too much frozen at once upset Oban's tummy. I know some raw feeders feed all frozen at once though. I think I'd thaw them, if they're as small as the ones I get, so he gets more fun out of them, hopefully he'll chew then, like once or twice.
Diggity is five months old and I just bought a bunch of chicken necks for him. He’s never had raw before. Should I give the necks to him frozen or should I thaw them out first?

I have a hard time finding them locally so I ordered a bunch frozen to be delivered later today. I’m just planning to give them one at a time and I couldn’t remember if I should give them to him when they’re still frozen or thaw them out a little bit first, so thanks for your advice! It’s been so long since I gave them to my previous dog that I can’t remember what you’re supposed to do! I can’t wait to see how he eats them too! My vet says he’s already a power chewer.

I've never fed chicken necks, but have done turkey necks. I fed then frozen or thawed, it didn't seem to matter to the dogs. The dogs LOVED them, but it gave them soft, runny poo's so I stopped feeding them as they were too rich. I did try give the one that was cut in half to see it it would change the poo issue, but it didn't seem to matter.

Some people start frozen or semi frozen as it can help a dog know to chew not gulp.

I hope that isn't the case with Diggity! I want to give him raw bones, but am worried about him breaking teeth. He has already broken two of his baby canines, which I know are softer, but his vet said not to feed him bones because he is such a power chewer. The jury is still out on that one though as I kept my previous dog's teeth pretty clean with a weekly raw knuckle bone.
