      WARNING: graphic poop image!!!

Sorry. So gross. With all the issues around here with Linus I just want to double-check. This is Sam's poop from this evening at week 3 of the raw diet. Does this look like a detox poo? It started to look like like this Monday, otherwise it's been less volume, lighter, drier. He's doing great. I just wanted to check. -image-jpg

And yeah, I noticed the wood, too. Stinker...

Not a poop expert but this one wouldn't worry me.

However, if he continues to pass mucus I'd have him checked. The wood could have also irritated his GI system.

      I would not worry.

They act like goats sometimes the way they eat stuff.

LOL, I've been carefully checking poop for about two months now. At one point I'd have been happy to see that. I tried to get a video of Oban's fire hose poops but didn't make it in time. We are probably moving to raw ourselves so your progress is interesting. Feel free to post more poop photos.

Wouldn't worry either; looks pretty acceptable to me As for the mucus, I've seen that before both with Lynn and Mel and as long as it's not there constantly, it's probably pretty natural although I don't know when and why it happens.

I wouldn't worry either, and he is very likely going through detox. Although can I ask how much you are feeding per meal? That seems like a lot of poop for a raw fed dog.

Are you doing PMR or BARF? With veggies added, there is usually a little bit more poop

Also, a significant part of this one is wood, LOL

Just popping in to say I love looking at Luna's poop, it tells you so much. I wouldn't worry about the mucus either, happens every once in a while. I find if I feed Luna later at night than usual (like a couple of hours later), she has more mucusy poop. I think because she knows she's going to poop in the morning when she wakes up so her little body pushes it through and some mucus gets left on because she's working so hard to get it out of her. But that's just my wild speculation. :-)

Looks better than what you have described was happening. The wood could have caused the mucous. Wanted to mention, the only time Bandit had mucous was when he had giardia.
