    Wink We're going RAW!

Finally convince the GF to get Emma on RAW! We're going with prey-model, but will continue her regime of fruits and veggies has snacks and treats.

What finally convenience her was having her talk to other people who feed RAW, and sharing their experience. It does come with a few requirements for now, which are: I have to butcher the stuff myself, keep Emma food in separate freezer so she doesn't open the fridge and see an entire animal, and package meals into separate bag so no need to guess what to do if she feeds Emma.

We have about a little bit over a week left of kibble so were going to finish that and switch her over cold turkey! I can't wait! And pretty sure Emma going to love it.

I'm planning on doing sort of a journal blog about the changes, with pictures and accounts on the process.

Sounds great! Here are a couple links you might find helpful as you transition. I think the best piece of advice is to go slooowwww.

I am on RAW with my dog. I am constantly learning and tweaking. I still have questions. But if done correctly I think it is superior method even if not for everyone.

Thanks for the links! I hadn't seen the PDF yet!

I've already done a lot of research since I've wanted to switch her for a while now. but her breeder recommend to keep her on the kibble till at least 7 months and the GF was 90% against it so we transitioned to adult food for the past 2 or 3 bags.

Same as above....going raw was the best decision ever....I will NEVER feed another dog kibble. The difference is huge - as long as you get the correct ratio for the dog to do best on.

For instance, I first started Rivers on raw turkey (he's problematic with chicken), for the first 3-4 wks he did fabulous....around 6wks he started loosing a bit of pep again.

Switched him to beef and the boy acts like a puppy and is running full force again - no eye goobers, no bad breath, very clean teeth (and I do not feed RMB's).

Made the switch 3 days ago. So far she been doing great! We've only had 1 episode of diarrhea. She's eating about 26oz a day right now its been been chicken backs and she's having a chicken quarter and neck for dinner.
