Question How many of you feed their dog with natural food?

I noticed there was a data loss in the forum and was wondering if this sub forum used to have more traffic? I have recently started feeding Tokyo with natural, previously frozen fish, meat and veggies, heīs doing very well after more than two weeks.

Tokyo had external otitis several times and recently we gave up croquettes for natural food (plus medical treatment of course) in order to get his health improved and try to fix his ichy ear for good. He is doing a lot better, but not only that, he looks more thinner in a good way, meaning he needed to loose a few extra pounds and whats a real relief for us and was a total surprise, he barely has that doggy odor smell and his fur a less greasy , itīs awesome.

So was wondering do you guys feed your dog with natural food?

I've been following the BARF model for more than a year now. My dog was previously on kibble for more than 6 years. I had started a thread about how much difference a year of feeding raw has made for my dog, but unfortunately it's now lost. I just want to say that my dog had problems with recurring ear infections which seem to have been solved by switching him to raw.

Iīm going to look up for that thread after writting this comment, itīs definitely an amazing improvement.

I have to admit that the fact of giving him bones creeps me out a little bit, and i have known barf even before getting Tokyo more than 3 years ago, thinking and thinking about it and itīs hasnīt been until now that i made the step forward and feed him natural... the only thing i have to say after 2 weeks is that a regret no having done this before...

I still have to get use to and make improvement in my grocery list so i can make it economical and make sure Tokyo is well fed, but, itīs definitely a great improvement with visible results in barely two weeks. Very nice.

I have no doubt itīs way better than kibble, but not giving him any fruits or veggies... idk, well in my opinion, i seriously donīt know whatīs right or wrong, if dogs are wolves or not whatever.. i just try to keep intuitive and do whats right form him, but, i have no doubt thatīs better that kibble, but the idea of giving him only proteins, i dunno, i donīt see it.. I respect that though.

Considering the board took a massive dump of 100% of the data, ALL the boards are low in post count. It's hard to recreate all those years. At this point, I would just ask whatever questions you have and let folks answer. We are going to have recreate everything from scratch again.

Always home cooked here both for Lynn and Mel. Never fed kibble, so I can't compare, but there are a few things I can say - never had any problems with eye or ear infections or allergies, their fur is shiny, their breath is not "aromatic", so when you get a kiss you're not about to lose your lunch... so far I'm very happy with the results
