Question Where can I find turkey necks in Brampton, Ontario?

    Hey guys,

I'm thinking of slowly transitioning my Lab to some raw foods. I want to start with a turkey neck as the occasional treat, and see how he likes it. The problem is, I've called a few grocers here but nobody seems to carry turkey necks.

Can anybody recommend a place to get turkey necks from, preferably in Brampton.

I cannot make recommendations as I am not close to your area, but FYI, turkey necks, while great, have a high gulpability/obstruction/choking component as they are the perfect size/shape for it. I hack mine up with a cleaver into medallions. It is a pain. Also messy.

Was getting them from a local turkey farm. I stopped feeding them as it would give them the runs for a couple days every time they had one.

I'm not in Canada so I have no idea specifically where you can buy them but Asian and Hispanic markets typically carry that kind of stuff. Also, check into RAW co-ops that can order them for you.

I googled and found some places near you but I have no experience with them. To start I held on (wore cheap cotton gardening gloves for grip) to the neck and forced the dog to chew at it for the reasons above, gulping and swallowing whole. I supervised all bone and raw eating.

If you do not cut them up, definitely get a good grip on them! I found them at butcher shops without any problem.

You can order turkey necks from big country raw.
