Bobby is usually fed beef, pork, chicken and kangaroo. Lately, we've been introducing new proteins to his diet: lamb and salmon. The lamb we get is a bit fatty so we mix it in with his beef. He also gets the occasional lamb neck, exercising his jaw muscles for a peaceful five to ten minutes.

Turns out, my uncle gets a daily shipment of salmon. Good news, free offcuts! These cuts consist of fins, skin, the occasional head and "discoloured" flesh (basically, meat that doesn't look nice but perfectly fine to eat). Thankfully, my uncle is willing to store it in the freezer so mum can take it home. Bobby was a bit wary initially, especially with the chunk of fin but chomped it down soon enough. He gets salmon two to three times a week, cutting our raw feeding costs!

    Gotta' love feeding raw.

With the salmon, I've noticed he has lost a little weight. Initially, he looked a bit chunky even though I could still easily feel his ribs but now, he has a more lean figure. His coat is now softer, smoother and shinier.

Berna, is there a reason you don't feed the shell? It's my understanding that the shell makes it a "perfect food" or balances is out, or whatever.

Cookie won't eat it That's the only reason... I know it's a very good source of calcium.

I can't find a pic right now. My boy only gets one or two raw meals per week. My Jade won't touch raw. I'm way too poor to afford totally raw. I have never liked BARF and have always gone with prey model. I normally toss him an entire chicken (innards and all) or perhaps a pack of thighs and gizzards or threats mixed in coated in egg and every now and then yogurt. I've given him beef rolls with stripped raw bones or turkey necks, too. Never any veggies or fruits. He does not like nor need them.

I made Luna's dinner tonight and there was a fetus in with her egg... it had feathers and everything. Luna loved it. I don't have any picture but it was, not in order of quantity but when it went into the bowl:
scrambled eggs, eggshell powder, green beans, flax seeds, chicken thigh, canned tuna, blueberries, strawberries, homemade chicken soup (water removed) and a little kibble
