I also am so sorry for both losses. 8 is way too young,
why cant dogs live longer ? their only drawback ...

I followed Petey's story in the health section....the poor fellow....his life was a blessing to you in the short time you had together...he'll be waiting for you one day at the bridge....

Thank you. Yes, he was a blessing to the whole family. The house isn't the same without him here. We just got his paw print back from the vet last week, we are going to hang it on the wall so that he's always with us. I still cannot believe he is gone. He was so sweet and smart.

I know this sounds crazy, but I swear he visited us on the second night after he passed away. I woke up from a sound sleep about 3 a.m. I felt something bump my foot. I woke up to the sound of panting really loud and fast. My son heard it, too. He said he heard running on the steps. (Which is what he would do going to bed at night) It was like he was full of energy letting me know how happy and excited he is now. Like he had been running.

I know he's happy and at peace now.
