Camera Acronyms

This is not a full list, just a start. If you find an acronym that comes up in posts, Lisa has mentioned she will add it.

Other info may be found here:
http://www.wonderfulphotos.com/artic...eras/acronyms/

Excellent explanation of how shutter speeds and apertures work together here:
http://www.photosoc.manchester.ac.uk...mini_three.pdf

Aperture
Lens opening usually expressed as f-numbers or f-stops, regulates the amount of light passing onto the film. F/2.8 is a large aperture, f/22 is considered a small aperture.
Small aperture gives you more depth of field, large aperture allows less depth of field.
