cell phone opinions
I am currently on verizon and my two year contract is just about up and I need a new phone. Also, if I wait for my contract to expire any chance of getting a better deal?
While I would love an iphone I don' think AT&T coverage is great here. Does anyone have thoughts between the LGenV3, or LGenvTouch?

I love LG phones! My friend just got the first one you mentioned and she loves it and the reception is fantastic. Some people don't like touch screens because they can get oily/dirty. I have a Blackberry storm which is a touch screen and I love it! Its nice to have the big screen for pictures/music etc. when not in use and then I like having all of the buttons really big because its easier for me to text, lol

I have Verizon and a Samsung phone..love it. Most of my family/friends are on Verizon and we have no home phone so this plan works for us.

I'm not sure that I'm helping any, but I'm due for a new phone in Aug and I'm with Verizon the new every 2 plan for phone upgrades.
I currently have the ENv and I'll be looking to upgrade to either the ENv3 or Touch.....I love my ENv, mostly for the full size keyboad, so that is why I'm staying in the ENv family for my upgrade. I haven't really went to a store yet to handle one or look at them. I've read nothing but good reviews for the ENv3. I read that battery life is limited on the Touch. Good luck, if you stay with Verizon and pick either the ENv3 or Touch, I'd be curious to know how you like it.

Don't get the Blackberry Pearl-I hate it! So many problems that they will do nothing about. Not familiar with the phones you mentioned, just wanted to warn you!

I'm with verizon too. Have been for a long time. Best coverage I've ever had.

I switched from Verizon to Tmobile almost 2 years ago...nothing was wrong...TMobile just offered my Blackberry for a cheaper monthly rate and I have great coverage...AT&T and IPhone contract runs through next year...with the option to renew...if Apple decides to open up the market...expect most carriers to start getting in Iphones...my Dad has an LGenv and loves it...

I have a Blackberry Storm with a touch screen. I have only had it for a couple of weeks and am still getting used to it. I am no longer cursing it, it always takes a while to get used to a new phone but I am loving alot of the features of this new phone.
It came down to either this or an iphone but the carrier that has iphone here has very limited covereage so it really doesn't work for me as I travel a bit with work. |

I know you said AT&T service wasn't that great where you are....but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my iPhone. I was with Verizon and was happy with the service, but for me, I had to have the iPhone. We live in the middle of nowhere basically and the service isn't that bad.

My mom just got the LG enV3 about a month and a half ago and she absolutely loves hers. I personally have to vote for the Blackberry curve...
OR...they DO have a new blackberry coming out any day now that looks pretty sweet! ![]() ETA: For anyone interested, this is the phone I was talking about... http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...edPhoneId=4866

I got the enV3 when it came out. I had an phone credit on my acct because when I signed up with Verizon I used my old phone. I got a $50 rebate, so the cost of the phone ended up being $129. I like it just fine. I text a ridiculous amount during baseball season so I need the qwerty keyboard and this was the best one out there. The camera is also an upgrade from my old phone. Bigger storage capacity as well. I was constantly having to delete texts on my old phone but this one holds about 400 texts before I have to dump them.
The customer service rep told me the enV3 was going to go up in price within a month or two of it's launch so you may want to get it now if that's the one you go with. Call Verizon to find out when you will be eligible for the phone credit. |

If you go online to verizons website, they will tell you exactly when you are elegible to upgrade your phone (and renew your contract). It is generally a few months before the actual 2 years is up. They should give you a credit towards your new phone for renewing (i think when i last did it, it was $100). I would do it online. That way you get an instant "online rebate" when you buy in the store, they give you a mail in rebate debit card. They ship quick too, you should get the phone in 2 days. Also, in the store they will always try to sell you every possible accessory that comes with the phone and act like its some great package deal, because they make more money that way.

We have both AT&T and Verizon. AT&T coverage is great here on the East Coast. No reception in parts of CA- specifically Fort Hunter-Liggett. SO DH got Verizon also. He thinks the reception is better with Verizon, clearer calls, he doesn't get the no network coverage on his phone. He has a motorola brand for Verizon and Samsung for AT&T.
He regularly drops his phones, he takes them out to the field in dust and dirt, etc so he is hard on cell phones. So far he loves the Motorola brand one through Verizon and has been using it more than the AT&T one. It also has good coverage on the East Coast. WHen he goes to Ft McCoy WI next week we'll see how the Verizon one does. THe At&T one has no coverage on Post there. My daughter's BF has the iphone and he loves it. He does all sorts of things on it, it is very cool. |
