Our dog has now been on this brand for 2 months, and she STILL loves it! She's always been a picky eater, and only weighed 55 lbs, but she has gained 5 lbs since the start of this food.
She's had no excessive shedding, flaking, itching, etc. but to be fair she never had those problems on any other food either. The main difference w/Chicken Soup is she likes it and eats it. I've seen this food criticized for containing a lot of ingredients, but the ingredients are good ones. No more rollercoaster for us. |

Glad to hear you have found a food that works for you. When I was researching food, Chicken Soup was in the top 5 in my opinion. I ended up choosing Natural Balance.
It sould not be this hard to choose a food for your pup, but such is life Good luck!

Using it and loving it here too. My guy is a picky eater too. He doesn't always finish his dinner but he eats it better than his old food. At 73 pounds I don't want him to gain too much more wieght. After 2 months he is doing great.

I *may* try the food again in a couple of months. When Sandy had started to shed terribly from the food, I wasn't quite sure what to think. After I had took her off the food, some one had suggested that she may of been putting on a better coat from the food. So, I *may* try it again later, inbetween shedding seasons so I can really tell for myself what was going on.
My cat, on the other hand, has been on the Chicken Soup cat food for a few months now and is doing abosutely awesome on the food! |

Chicken Soup
Kitty loved it, but she got a UTI at the same time we switched over, so I took her off, much to her horror and dismay. May or may not have been related.
It sure is tempting to try, although Coop does so well on the Diamond L/R, or the Kirkland L/R, I hate to tempt fate and try it on him. The fact that its made by Diamond is a strong vote in its favor though, as I do feel they make a good quality product, without the hype so many of them have. |

How is it working for pudgy pups?
Weight will ALWAYS be a bit of an issue for Cooper (just like it has become for his mutti). For those of you who feed CS, are you needing to feed more or less than of your previous food? IE, is it like Innova, which tends to pack on the lbs in some dogs?

Does anyone have the web site for this particular brand of food? If so, could you please post it. I've been trying to find out some more info about this particular food but I can't seem to find thier web site.
Thanks, Drakken |

When I fed it, I didn't have to feed any more or less. I rotate foods and its quite odd, but I don't have to feed her any more or less than 2 cups a day no matter what food it is. It seems very weird to me that she never needs more or less of different foods as different foods contain different amounts of kcals. For example, Innova has 550 some kcals per cup (was it per cup?) and Diamond L&R has some where in the 300's. She needs only two cups of Innova to keep weight and only 2 cups of Diamond to keep weight.
So with my girl, I think she's the exception being it doesn't matter what food I'm feeding her, she still only needs two cups. I don't understand how that works, but thats how it works for her. |
