What about a night time cookie?
Hi all,
Our 10.5 year old yellow lab has a grumbling tummy off and on - mostly at night. It wakes him up and he looks all confused. He is active, eats, drinks and poops like nothing is wrong. He is walked about 45 minutes a day and eat 2 cups morning and night of Fromm grain free. He looks trim and fit. He has had this issue with other foods.
Is this bad? thoughts? Should we consider a food change up?
Many thanks

Is it only after his stomach seems to be empty (i.e. a good while after a meal) or does it happen even with food in his stomach?
If only at night, quite some time after the last meal, I agree that a nighttime snack might do the trick.
If it happens at other times, my experience says that something you're giving him is annoying his system and forming gas. Since gas is uncomfortable (and my guys actually look unhappy when this happens), I figure out what is causing it and stop giving it. In the case of these two, it's mostly been one supplement or another (e.g., glucosamine, MSM, flaxseed) but it also happens with chicken-based food and food containing sweet potato, amongst other things. And, oh my gosh, definitely with any dairy product other than a bit of yogurt.
I've switched food before when it's definitely been the food and, unfortunately, can't give most joint pain supplements.
Ooooh a bedtime snack! Who doesn't like a cookie before bed?

He gets a bed time cookie every night. Mostly seems to happen near wake up time, so maybe its just that he is getting hungry. Maybe we will try 2 cookies .
I doubt its the food he is on, I just threw it out there.
Many Thanks!
