10 month old black lab food recommendation

Hello to all,I am new here to the forums .my wife and I joined to gain more knowlage on our pups health .we have been feeding our 10 month old black lab male CORE grain free formula ,with their canned food mixed in recently.he seems to like it with no issues .primary question is ,is there a better healthier choice for him out there without going RAW? Is there something he isn't getting that he should ? Thanks in advance .chris

      Hi Chris and welcome!

In general, there is no perfect food for all dogs, just what seems best for your dog. The brands of foods fed to dogs on here run the gamut, grain free, grain inclusive, higher protein, higher fat, lower fat, etc. and there are a number of people who feed raw. If your dog is doing well on the food he's eating- good energy, good coat, good poops, no apparent allergies- there is no particular reason to switch to another.

Speaking only for myself, I like to have more than one brand of food that I know my dogs do well on, can eat in case of a product recall, or we run out when traveling and cannot get their usual brand. There are a couple of brands that I rotate to and within brands I often switch proteins from bag to bag. I try to keep the protein and fat levels fairly consistent.

While you're here, tell us more about your pup and a few photos are always welcomed!

      If he's doing well, I wouldn't change a thing.
