    Raw egg on kibble?

I had a trainer suggest to me to add a raw egg to Archie's food for added nutrients. Anyone do that?

I do that for a treat infrequently. No issues for my pups and they like them. I throw the egg in shell and all.

We've done it as a treat. I know they'll eat the shells, but we didn't add them.

We have five laying chickens so always have fresh eggs on hand. Thor gets one (shell and all) on his evening kibble. Sometimes I just give him the yolk - I find it reduces his dry skin itchies. I usually bring in my eggs from the coop right before I feed thor so I just dump one in his bowl. [emoji1]

I give the raw yolks a couple times a week. Can't remember why, but Sophie's breeder told me to give only the yolk when I asked them 30 some years ago.

I've read that feeding uncooked whites can cause a biotin deficiency but I don't know enough about it to give a good explanation.

My gurls get a raw egg on "raw" day. I don't like to mix raw foods and processed kibble in the same meal, they are digested differently.

    Raw egg on kibble?

Thanks guys. I'll be adding eggs to Archie's diet! He's a few lbs under weight and i was looking for healthy ways to add some calories. Might be looking into raw altogether because he's not a fan of kibble [emoji854]

Not every day, even when I fed raw. Once in a while now I will wash the egg and give it all. I break it because I'm afraid Oban will pick it up and take it somewhere and drop it where I don't want it to break. Mostly now this is to use up that one last egg in the carton.

I could not find conclusive research, recent research on the biotin deficiency.

Mine occasionally get the yolk and shell (I’ve usually eaten the whites myself). They love it, but it’s not a regular thing.
