I sure hope it doesn't take a few years to figure it out. Niner did so well on Authority fish and potato. He's back on Proplan but his poop is soft
Which grains are the worst for dogs? Which ate okay? I’ve read corn and wheat are not good, but are there others? Trying to figure out if there are some limited grain formulas that are the best of both worlds.

I'm not sure that corn and wheat are bad, but they are not well-tolerated by some dogs. Farmina is one to look at. Rice works fine for some dogs. Suspect ingredients to avoid peas, potatoes and legumes. At first they were saying avoid if they are the first five, then avoid if they come before the vitamins and now, just avoid them all together.

Farmina Ancestral Low Grain is a very good kibble, but pricey.

what did everyone feed their dogs back in 70's and 80's? my aunt has always had multiple labs and still does at age 70+...her labs always lived a long time w/out surgeries or injuries...something going on now with labs and their genetics...
