    CBD treatment

Living in California, we have lots of access to medicinal cannabis. Curious is anyone has been leveraging CBD for their dogs?
It has worked wonders for our anxious dog. and we like the idea of using natural treatments, and not using prescriptions on him

Friends of mine with senior dogs have seen wonders in dealing with pain maintenance and inflammation.

I haven't used it but there's a vet whose writings I follow who looks at various veterinary treatments from a scientific basis. He wrote about a fairly recent study on CBD for dogs with arthritis that some might find interesting. Evidence Update: Promising Clinical Trial of CBD for Arthritis Treatment in Dogs | The SkeptVet

Can't say I've tried it on dogs, but I personally have been using CBD oil for ~6 months for nighttime anxiety/insomnia and it is working wonders!

We've tried it with NO success. So it really depends on which oil, what the ailment is and then the dog as well. I've used CBD myself for arthritis and it doesn't work. In my diet and topically to the area.

I had the same (non-) reaction as Jen. I never used it on the dogs. Tried several brands and always got a headache but that was it. They say a headache means you're using too much but that never got to be the case with me. I also understand that some people have an extra something in their systems (or are lacking something, I forget which)...and that's what makes the difference for relief/nothing.

My internist, who uses it for her own migraines, says I probably need "the good stuff" and not just CBD oil.

I think a lot also depends on the qualify and process in which the cannabinoids are extracted. I know a lot of what is out there is extracted using chemicals form industrial hemp. There is also a CBDA vs CBD and well as THCA vs THC. there are also impacts based on if the flowers are heated or raw. I am still learning what works for me, as well as our dogs, but so far the results have been possitive
