I use green beans, baby carrots, celery, apples mostly. My guys eat the green beans frozen! Keep the treats small if you are using store bought. Dogs don't care about the size, just that they got one! I used the Bil-Jac tiny training treats for potty training, I think they were 4 calories apiece.

I've used IAMS Weight Control treats. Easy to break apart. Also, use fruits and veggies. Carrots are a favorite.
Science Diet baked light biscuits. The medium sized ones only have 32 calories per biscuit.

I don't worry about calories. I buy the puppy sized biscuits. They think they are getting something, and it's a cookie the size of a penny. They don't care.

As others, I buy the small bite size. Most are in the 5-7 calorie range. He's usually pretty happy with 3-4 per day.
Macy is happy with any morsel- no matter the size. This summer she has been getting a lot of green beans, blueberries and carrots. I used to use Charlee Bears. If I remember correctly, they are low cal.
