I don't think many feed it anymore. About 10 years ago it seemed it had a good rep, but now I rarely hear anyone feeding it. Recalls I think. Too low of fat for me. I have pups on 30/20. Nutro puppy is 15% fat. Not enough for a lab coat.

Nutro used to be a decent food, but not any more. It's on my "would not feed if given to me for free" list. There have been numerous recalls and other issues with the quality of the food. I'd pass.

Thank You. Having trouble deciding what to feed when we get her. Breeder has her on puppy chow which I am not a fan of.

    Why not try ProPlan?

If your breeder has her on Puppy Chow, I'd stick with that or maybe try Pro Plan Focus Puppy Chicken & Rice. You don't want to feed something drastically different from the breeder. If your breeder is a responsible one, there's likely a reason behind what they are feeding and I wouldn't monkey with it too much.

I would pass on Nutro due to recalls. I agree with feeding the puppy chow for a couple bags or even maybe till the puppy is 6 to 8 months.

I'd buy a small bag of Puppy Chow and then transition the puppy over to ProPlan Focus chicken and rice puppy food.
