I do see what you're saying; truth be told though, do we truly know what's in ANY pet food?

We only know what they want us to know - unfortunately; but many companies will not disclose exact ingredient sources nor the quality.

I understand what you're saying about some companies being worse then others - but if this poor pup has been fed and trialed on numerous other foods, with no improvement and the owner doesn't have the time or desire to cook or raw feed, then the gut instinct of the quality of the food versus overall health of the animal has to be the owners decision.

I myself flat out hung up my hat on dog foods all together - I saw a *slight* improvement in Rivers with Merrick Pork grain-free, but after finding out how much ash (bone/minerals) were in the food versus actual meat, along with the cost of it. I said forget it, and went cold-turkey to raw - BEST thing ever for this boy.

But not everyone is able to do the same, so they have to rely on something.

If I had to feed a dry food now days; I'd be lost as to which brand to trust - cause I don't think any of them are trustworthy - at least not to the cost of what one is paying, dollar wise.
