Never heard of the bloat warnings. We gave plenty to Bobby during the summer and his teething days. I even froze his Kong in a giant ice block. In my opinion, if she isn't having any problems with it, I would continue to give it.
I've been seeing a lot more warnings about giving your dogs ice! What's this about? Bloat? But is the bloat from the coldness or drinking too much too soon? I just don't understand and Sofie LOVES ice. She gets a couple ice cubes after our walks since it's so hot out now. Just wondering what the fuss is about. I read about choking and breaking teeth, but Sofie hasn't had a problem and plays with it sometimes a bit before biting it in half.

Never had a problem. Dogs here always like to play with ice cubes and eat them. No bloating, no teeth problems. My husband, on the other hand, must stop chewing ice as it is affecting his teeth.

DD's GSD has problems with ice. He'll vomit fairly quickly after eating an ice cube so she no longer offers them. Potion, at age 10 or so, had a slab fracture of a molar from chewing on ice. That was one expensive ice cube.
Neither Mardi or Archie are very interested. After Potion's incident, I don't offer ice cubes.
It's a hoax

Our new vet warned about hurting their teeth but I have yet to have a dog with ANY dental problems so they will continue to enjoy the ice cubes.
There is so much drama and misinformation out there its unreal.
It's kinda like that French model commercial...although the only animal I have that actually likes ice cubes is my cat and he just likes the sound of them
