Here's a brand new thought to confuse everyone. Our holistic vet told us that leaky gut can cause skin & yeast problems. We're still working on years of itching for poor Jessie.
Probiotics & enzymes are a must for leaky gut. One of the best sources of both of these is raw green tripe. Since Jessie is on a raw diet, adding the tripe is easy. Its best to start off slowly to see how your dog tolerates it. Jessie can tolerate about 1/4 - 1/2 cup every other day. Some dogs can make a whole meal of it. It stinks like heck & dogs just love it! I like that better than buying pills....I never know what supplements are the best, so the tripe is popular with us.

I would go with a probiotic instead of yogurt.

Us too, Lainie....I've tried to explain for a long time that leaky gut can cause yeast issues, which also causes food intolerances in both human & animal.

Does not mean one is *allergic* to the substance, but can react to it because of little tears in the intestinal tract.
