Mine eats it right off the spoon! He'll even lick it off me when I put it on my skin.
Once he smells it on me he freaks out haha.

Lola eats it raw on top of her food. She inhales coconut, pumpkin, and sweet potato off the top of her food like she's taking the frosting off of cupcake.
Luna and Bentley love coconut oil no matter if it's solid or liquid. I do though run some warm water over the coconut oil and kibble which does partially melt it. For myself, I use it to sauté veggies or in baking; plus it really helps soften dry cuticles. It's kind of the WD40 of the oil world. . . . good for lots of things.
My two eat it solid. Emma will lick it off the spoon.

Mine like it either way. I like it in all sorts of things including coffee and my hair
Jessie eats it right of the spoon ... but that's Jessie (Miss Piggy)!
But her food dish is stainless steel & I put the solid oil in the dish first then place the dish in the sink that has very hot water in it. The oil melts quickly, then I put her (raw) food in.
Yup, it is a minor nuisance, but I'd rather she had it mixed in than in a blob.
Oh for heaven's sake. Oban's dish is stainless as well. I never thought to melt the stuff this way. I am putting his food in the dish. Then I run a TBSP under hot water, dig out the amount of coconut oil and plop it in the dish on top of the food. Then I take the dish over to the hot water tap and dribble hot water on the blob of c. till it melts and I can mix it in. I do need the extra water to help distribute the Rxzymes he's currently getting but he won't be needing them forever, I hope. Your minor nuisance is much easier than my way. I never thought of doing it your way. Sheesh. Thanks.
