Just a thought, have they gotten a swab of the ear to make sure there is no yeast or bacteria present?
Is it possible the ear infections are from saltwater swimming, not food related?

It could be both. Lola has food allergies that contributed to her bad ears. Add to that swimming, and it was a bad combo. We're vigilant about rinsing Lola's ears after swimming. Between the ear rinsing and diet changes, she hasn't had an ear infection in over a a year and half.
It's kind of fun making their food isn't it? You get a more enthusiatic reaction than from some human family members, among whom this one won't eat carrots and that one needs the food arranged just so and the older one is salt restricted.. Plus, apparently the anticipation factor with dogs, read DROOOOOOL, is a dietary aid and helps them digest the food more thoroughly and thus get more benefit from it. Our holistic Vet said this and I found corroborating studies to confirm.
