    Yeast Balancing Pro Biotic

So Maverick was diagnosed with Coccidia, Giardia, a skin infection, and a gross yeasty ear infection. We are treating one thing at a time with antibiotics and supplementing with probiotics from the vet. The probiotics run about $5/day, YIKES! Well just last night we pulled a plump tick out of him. It wasn't embedded, but it had fed on something/someone. I haven't called my vet yet (I will, don't worry) but I'm thinking that since he's already immunocompromised from all of his other issues right now and because he has a long road ahead that I'd start looking for a good (ie cheaper) probiotic for him. I pulled up the search bar in the lab forum and started reading threads. I came to one where Labradorks mentioned a pribiotic pearl so I entered it into Amazon.

I got this product (and many more) that came up.
Amazon.com: Enzymatic Therapy Pearls Yeast Balancing Probiotics Caps, 30 ct: Health & Personal Care

I know it says it's for women's health, but do you think the Yeast Balancing action would help with his ears? And again, I will be contacting my vet before I do or buy anything. I was just looking for thoughts on this maybe crazy idea.

    Thanks!

I'm sorry you're going through this! Poor pup!

I kind of swear by Animal Essentials. Last week I took Char to the park and he drank park water. I always bring water from home and a bowl but he swiped the park water instead. Resulted in a day of diarrhea. I gave him some animal essentials and he had solid poops from there on.

might want to switch foods, what do you feed currently?

Do you know what kind of tick it was?

We switch between Earthborn Holistic Grain Free and Fromm Grain Free foods. We thought the grain free would help, but we're wondering if it's a systemic yeast infection now. Gotta love the internet...... But this particular issue started with a week long vacation at a lake with a lot of swimming. It's our fault though, we should've cleaned his ears better. I guess the giardia/coccidia couldn't be helped. But Maverick's ears have always been icky and he has always chewed at his paws and scratched. He also has dandruff. I looked back thru posts here and found someone who's dog had a systemic yeast infection so now I'm paranoid that's what he has.

It was a deer tick we pulled out.
