I tried to answer the quiz but I am not in the USA, the food I buy is NOT made in the USA and the primary ingredient is Not from the USA or Canada. I am in Canada and the food is made here. FWIW I do think labelling regulations (Canada does follow AAFCO) are as much to blame as the companies. Also FWIW I've had my own issues with Fromm labelling and ingredients that had nothing to do with sourcing.

ETA: BEfore I started this mega expensive kibble the INternal Specialist Vet recommended for Oban it had a change of ingredients which they did not show on their labels and apparently some allergic dogs, a market it caters to, reacted. The particular ingredient was not one Oban is bothered by and the change was over by the time we started using it.

During my recent vet visits to a dermatologist, He produced some literature that stated a high percentage of commercial kibble (can't find the paperwork at the moment) doesn't contain the actual ingredients listed and a percentage has ingredients not listed.

Don't you think they've probably named every company that manufactures dog food in the US, trying to catch anyone whose labeling is not fully transparent?

My Vet has that too. I think we can find it on the internet if we know where to look, which I forget, but maybe it was a Dr. Jean Dodds link from her site?

I wouldn't pay attention to it. But with that said I also don't believe that the "premium" dog foods are really that much different or better than other less premium brands so I don't pay attention to this kind of crap anyway. I think a lot of dog food labeling and advertising is misleading in the first place, anything to sell there product

I can only go by the results I see in the dogs. I've fed Fromm for almost 3 years, and now Petkind for about 6 months. No issues what so ever with either. And I've never seen poops as small as what I get on the Petkind. That tells me the nutrients are going into the dogs, not through them.
